Big Event and Aggieland Saturday by the Sea Canceled to Maintain Precautionary Coronavirus & COVID-19 Instruction
—Texas A&M University at Galveston’s Big Event, scheduled for Saturday, March 21 and campus preview event Aggieland Saturday by the Sea, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, have been canceled until further notice due to concerns related to the coronavirus and COVID-19.
Per official Texas A&M University coronavirus and COVID-19-related response, campus community meetings (campus, agencies) and events are as of now restricted to less than 50 participants, no participants from off campus (other than campus community members), nor travelling from other states or countries through April 3.
While we regret canceling these events that are special to current and potential Aggies by the Sea, our first concern will always be keeping our students, staff, faculty and visitors safe.
Big Event is a celebrated annual event wherein hundreds of students dedicate a Saturday to community service and service-oriented projects in their local area. Aggieland Saturday by the Sea is Texas A&M-Galveston’s signature campus preview event dedicated to showing high school juniors, seniors and potential transfer students everything our wonderful campus has to offer.
Please stay tuned to our newsroom and social media channels for more forthcoming information regarding the Texas A&M-Galveston coronavirus and COVID-19 response, as well as any potential social media or virtual alternatives we may offer regarding these events.
