As a coastal center for ocean related science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), Texas A&M University at Galveston offers teens a unique opportunity to dive, so to speak, into STEM experiences in an ocean environment.

Texas A&M University at Galveston will host a regional Science Olympiad on Feb. 15 (Saturday) with concurrent science competitions from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at various campus locations.

The 32nd annual Galveston County Science and Engineering Fair will be conducted on Feb. 8 (Saturday) at the Dr. James and Pat McCloy Gymnasium and PE facility on the campus of Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Dr. William “Bill” Merrell, Texas A&M at Galveston George P. Mitchell ’40 chair in marine sciences, was recently recognized with the Galveston Chamber of Commerce 2013 Unsung Hero Award.

“Welcome to the fast-paced, fun, exciting world of National Ocean Sciences Bowl!” said Daisy Dailey, director of Educational Outreach and Sea Camp Programs at Texas A&M University at Galveston.

When Robert Austin Howell (’13) enters a room, he’s poised for the future — Khaki uniform, military bearing and close-cropped hair, he’s spit and polish; tall and strong.

Led by the Farm Foundation president Neil Conklin, more than 75 members of the Foundation’s Round Table visited TAMUG January 8.

Texas A&M University at Galveston will hold its commencement ceremony at 9 a.m., Dec. 14 (Saturday).

Once again, Texas A&M University at Galveston will participate in the Adopt-an-Angel project. Partnering with the local Salvation Army and Galveston County Child Protective Services the campus community will provide holiday gifts for many local children who are from either low-income families or have been removed from the family home and placed into the foster-care system.

Texas A&M University at Galveston Yell Leaders hosted an introductory Yell Practice to introduce the Mosbacher Odyssey Academy 9th graders to Texas A&M traditions prior to their class trip to College Station.
