The Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation saluted Sam J. Salvato, a 1975 graduate of Texas A&M University at Galveston, in the “Bugle Call” at the Aggie – Louisiana Tech football game at Kyle Flied on Sept. 11.

U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus conducted a town hall meeting at Texas A&M University at Galveston on Aug. 6 to discuss long-term economic and environmental restoration ideas with area residents.

On Friday, April 30, 2010, family, friends, colleagues, and classmates of Thomas W. Powell '62 gathered to watch as he christened the Powell Marine Engineering Complex of the Mitchell Campus of Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Dr. R. Bowen Loftin became Texas A&M University’s 24th president shortly before 9 a.m. today (February 12, 2010).

Texas A&M University Interim President R. Bowen Loftin was named sole finalist for the position in a vote today (Thursday, Jan 21) by the nine-member Texas A&M University System Board of Regents to lead the nation’s seventh-largest university following an extensive nationwide search.

On Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14, 2009 seven students from Texas A&M University at Galveston traveled to Laredo to participate in the Texas A&M University System Pathways Symposium.

July 30, 2009 started off just like most days for Alyson Azzara aboard the vessel Gordon Gunter. A Ph.D. student in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Marine Biology at Texas A&M University at Galveston, Azzara had been at sea for weeks with a crew from the NOAA Southeast Fisheries Science Center and the Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service.

The United States Coast Guard honored Roger Stone and Steve Conway with awards for heroism and valor for their actions following the capsizing of the sailing vessel Cynthia Woods in June 2008 at a ceremony on the Mitchell Campus of Texas A&M University at Galveston on July 27, 2009.
