Corps of Cadets

For the first time in 12 years, the Texas A&M Maritime Academy’s cadets will sail together as an entire academy this summer beginning May 30.

More than 60 cadets of the Corps of Cadets, the Navy ROTC and the Strategic Sealift Midshipman Program from Texas A&M University at Galveston arrived at the Battleship Texas State Historic Site recently to partner with personnel from Texas Parks and Wildlife and the U.S.

Crowley Maritime Corp. has awarded a Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship to Alex Tarn Tharakulprateep of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy recognizing his academic achievement and leadership skills in pursuit of a maritime career.

It's big! Really, really big. It is the biggest oil tanker ever to call on a Gulf of Mexico port - holding as much as 2 million barrels of crude oil - and it was piloted recently into port by Captain Jay Rivera, a graduate of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy at Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Texas A&M University at Galveston has selected Capt. Michael J. Rodriguez as the 15th superintendent of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy.

Beginning in 1962, when the Texas Maritime Academy, forerunner of Texas A&M University at Galveston, was founded, cadets had spent their first academic year on the College Station campus of Texas A&M University.

With a flotilla of Aggie Mom's leading the way and the Texas A&M Galveston research vessel Trident playing the Aggie War Hymn, the California State University Maritime Academy - Cal Maritime training ship Golden Bear arrived at port in Galveston Monday. The Texas A&M Maritime Academy has had a long time relationship with our brother academy, Cal. Maritime in Vallejo, California.

The Texas A&M Maritime Academy’s TS General Rudder flagship training vessel recently departed for the first of two training cruises in the Gulf of Mexico.
