Belfast was “great craic,” if you will. Thanks to our Student Activities team, cadets visited the Belfast Titanic Museum, did a History of Terror Walking Tour and a Game of Thrones tour while exploring the over 400-year-old city.

We’re now back across the Atlantic Ocean, soon to arrive in Halifax. We’ve traveled about 9,000 nautical miles to this point. Our entire journey this summer will be give-or-take 14,100 nautical miles.

As of this week, we’re officially over halfway through summer sea term. Cadets are busy at work in their classes and final exams are around the corner. We have fifteen of our own Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering Technology faculty members on board with us, as well as many from Maine Maritime Academy, who are leading the academic side of our summer at sea.

We will arrive in Halifax on June 28, where students will get the chance to visit the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and a guided sightseeing tour of Peggy’s Cove, and, like always, explore the city. We anticipate more cool weather during our time there – a cold late June is very different from the heat and humidity back home in Texas.
