Powell Marine Engineering Complex Dedicated
On Friday, April 30, 2010, family, friends, colleagues, and classmates of Thomas W. Powell ’62 gathered to watch as he christened the Powell Marine Engineering Complex of the Mitchell Campus of Texas A&M University at Galveston. The Powell Marine Engineering Complex is the center of activity for Texas A&M University at Galveston’s two engineering programs – Marine Engineering Technology and Maritime Systems Engineering. This 55,509 square foot complex provides classrooms, offices, and laboratories for these programs.
A long-time supporter of Texas A&M, Mr. Powell established the Thomas W. Powell ’62 Chair in Engineering and Technology in 2007.
