For Texas A&M University at Galveston graduate Angela Lefler the weather is much more important than what to wear on a windy day.

It's big! Really, really big. It is the biggest oil tanker ever to call on a Gulf of Mexico port - holding as much as 2 million barrels of crude oil - and it was piloted recently into port by Captain Jay Rivera, a graduate of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy at Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Most undergraduate students rarely get a chance to do research in some of the world's most remote locations alongside some of the top scientific minds, but a Texas A&M University at Galveston student is living the dream at the bottom of the world – Antarctica.

Texas A&M University at Galveston will hold the institution’s Fall 2016 Commencement at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 17th at the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd.
