UPDATE
Sept. 20, 2019, 6:00 a.m.
Based on current forecast information, campus will resume normal operations at 8:00 a.m. today. Broadway and 51st are open, but Harborside remains closed due to flood waters. Current travel conditions are available at drivetexas.org and Houston TranStar.
Officials will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the day. Updates will be communicated via official university channels.

Texas A&M University at Galveston officials are closely monitoring FLASH FLOODING RISK and the hazardous conditions it may create for the coastal Houston-Galveston region. Officials have elected to take the following actions to protect the safety of our students, faculty and staff:
Campus Closures:
Campus is closed effective at 11AM., Thursday September 19th. All classes, activities and business operations are cancelled with the exception of employees considered essential. Please check with your supervisor to determine if you are essential personnel.
All classes and business operations for Friday, September 20th will resume as normal.
On-Campus Impacts:
Students living on campus are encouraged to stay on campus.
Check dineoncampus.com/tamug for other location hours.
Persons are encouraged not to venture out unless absolutely necessary.

Texas A&M University at Galveston will resume normal business operations tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 a.m. Officials will continue to monitor developments associated with Tropical Depression Imelda over the next several days.

All classes and business operations for Wednesday, Sept. 18 are cancelled with the exception of employees considered essential. Please check with your supervisor to determine if you are essential personnel.
An announcement regarding the status of classes and campus operations for Thursday, Sept. 19 will be made by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to check official campus communications channels for up-to-date information.
