Hailing from Bastrop, Texas, a seven-year-old Russell Cole visited the Sea Turtle Rescue Center at South Padre Island with his family, where he learned how plastics were proving deadly for sea turtles and other marine life.

Texas A&M University at Galveston’s research scientists and archaeologists and students have joined National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) experts in investigating a 200-year-old shipwreck located about 150 miles from Galveston.
