Women Making Waves: Celebrating Women’s History Month at Texas A&M University at Galveston

|

Texas A&M University at Galveston is celebrating Women’s History Month all month long!

Several campus and local organizations came together to organize events, including Her Campus, the Sisterhood of University Leaders (SOUL), Save Our Seas, Career and Counseling Services, the Office of Student Activities, Student Government Association, Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County and the Office of Student Intercultural Learning & Engagement (SILE). With celebrations beginning today, there are plenty of opportunities to participate between movie screenings, speakers, networking events and more.

One of the drivers of these events is Her Campus, a student organization created with the sole purpose of fostering a community of strong female leaders on campus. “Through the works of the Women’s History Month Committee, we have the opportunity to create a series of events to connect and uplift women on campus,” said president Lauren Bothwell. “All throughout March, many student organizations are participating in the celebration of female empowerment… We encourage everyone to take some time this month to appreciate the women in their lives!”
