We are back underway, this time without our colleagues and peers from Maine.

Although we’ve made it to the last leg of the sea term, it’s still business as usual. Cadets are still doing their rotations, and working away on their final projects and studying for exams as we make our way back to Galveston. At the same time, our crew, faculty and staff are making preparations to get the ship ready for the US Maritime Administration (MARAD) to take possession of it again in September.

Although it’ll look a little empty on campus without a training ship, construction will start soon for the dock that will be home to TS Lone Star State, and before we know it, MARAD will be delivering our new ship to campus.
